Accounting Assistant Manager

Role summary:

The Assistant Manager will report to an Associate Director and will provide support in managing the financial reporting obligations of a portfolio of debt fund structures. The successful candidate will be based in Jersey.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead the production of financial reports for a portfolio of debt clients including monthly/quarterly net asset value statements and quarterly/semi-annual financial statements;
  • Contribute to the development of the debt fund team in Jersey and for the day-to-day financial reporting and management of a portfolio of clients;
  • Ensure quality control prior to the further review and approval of Sanne’s authorised persons including payments, calculations and transactions;
  • Implement customer specific procedures in relation to the reporting requirements;
  • Ensure that all day to day matters required to be completed are performed in a timely manner and satisfactory manner including monitoring tasks and delegating these across the relevant manager’s team;
  • Ensure reporting complies with entity and statutory requirements including local law, relevant GAAP, including IFRS and other reporting principals;
  • Act as primary point of contact with auditors in respect of the planning and coordination of the audits;
  • Assist with delegation of work within the team, ensuring work is being undertaken by individuals at levels appropriate for their charge out rate;
  • Contribute constructively to team meetings;
  • Assist with the management of appraisals and ensure objectives are monitored. Provide regular feedback to individuals within the team both constructively and where expectations have not been met.


Skills / experience:

  • Professional qualification – ACA, ACCA or equivalent;
  • Ideally with a few years’ experience in a similar relevant capability in the finance industry;
  • An understanding of Jersey regulatory and financial reporting regime and IFRS;
  • Ability to motivate and influence a team, high managerial skills;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritize tasks accordingly;
  • Motivated and driven;
  • Ability to provide training/mentoring to junior members of the team.
